Education: Must be a high school graduate or have a GED certificate. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a major emphasis in corrections and/or the behavioral sciences is desirable.

Experience: Should have previous experience in the field of corrections or have job experience or education in a specifically assigned skill. Prior experience in correctional security field is desired. In-service training in the security field is a continuing requirement.

Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of the proposed facility employee and resident policies, rules and regulations. A specific knowledge of the overall operation of assigned living unit and assigned area of work and/or supervision. Proficient in the use, care and instruction of resident supervision. Ability to act and react in a calm and rational manner under extreme stress. Must have character traits of maturity and stability and be responsible for the health, safety and well-being of the residents in the proposed unit.

Starting Salary:  34,500 /yr
