Education: Graduation from a standard high school; preferably supplemented by vocational training, factory service courses and other specialized training in this field.

Experience: Must have extensive experience in the operation, maintenance, repair and installation of all types of heating, air conditioning and ventilation equipment and controls systems.

Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of the principles and practices of the operation, maintenance, repair, installation and design of all types of equipment and controls relating to this field. Extensive knowledge of the safety precautions and proper procedures to be followed in all phases of this field. Extensive skill in locating and correcting defects and improper operation of all types of equipment encountered in this field. Ability to diagnose malfunctions and perform all electrical work associated with these types of equipment. Ability to understand and follow all written instructions; to work from sketches, blueprints, and specifications; to understand the complex design and installation of all equipment and controls encountered in this field. Ability to prepare comprehensive and accurate reports on maintenance activities and on new construction projects related to this field. Ability to teach and supervise the work of the skill.

Starting Salary:  27,500 / yr
