Education: High school graduation or equivalent is desirable; must have work experience background sufficient to cope with the problems of supervision.

Experience: Minimum experience of one year as a food service worker in an institution or the equivalent in a similar or comparable commercial-type food service establishment is required.

Knowledge: Knowledge of methods used in preparing and serving large quantities of food; of institutional kitchen equipment; of food storage, especially perishables, and preservation; of institutional sanitation regulations. Demonstrated skill in the use of food service equipment; skill in preparing work schedules and improvising to meet employee shortage. Ability to supervise employees, to work effectively with fellow employees, both subordinates and superiors; to plan, assign and review the work of subordinates; to analyze work problems and make recommendations accordingly; to maintain order and discipline; to read and comprehend written instructions and act accordingly; to write effectively for transmitting information and instructions to others in a clean and understandable manner; to maintain accurate records.

Starting Salary:  25,500 / yr
