Education: Graduation from an accredited college with courses in business management, psychology, sociology, penology, and education.  Previous work experience may be substituted for some college courses.

Experience: Should have considerable progressive administrative experience in correctional work or related field. Prior experience in correctional security field is desired. In-service training in the security field is a continuing requirement.

Knowledge: Thorough administrative knowledge of principles, methods and practices of modern prison administration, of Federal and State laws and departmental polices, rules and regulations relating to penal institutions. Thorough knowledge of individual and group habits and attitudes and general behavior of individuals.

Ability to administer policies and procedures for the proper operation of the proposed unit. Ability to inspire confidence of subordinates and residents and to enforce regulations with firmness, tact and impartiality. (This position optional before or after implementation of proposed facility.)

Starting Salary:  47,500 / yr
